conference weekend

we had a fun weekend in island park with my brother, sister-in-law, favorite nieces, and a few other friends. we needed to get out of provo, and it was a nice little break.

this is my favorite weekend of the year. four sessions of words from the prophets & the ncaa final four & championship basketball games. (which i will be watching alone tonight thanks to brian who has to work..what a party pooper.) but you better believe i'll cry my eyes out through "one shining moment" at the end of the game. if you don't know what that is..you are missing out big time. it may or may not be the only reason i watch. :)

we started the weekend off with our biggest purchase as a married couple. (but seriously..i think it might be) and bought brian a new laptop. he has been using one he's had forever, that takes about 25 minutes to turn on. (actually, he hasn't even been using it, he's been stealing mine.) we'd been debating doing it for a while, but he deserves it, and so far we're very glad we did. especially him. can you tell?

we hit the road after work on friday and met trae & lis in pocatello & then made our way up to island park. it was a little weird to go from 70 degree weather to 4 feet of snow. but kind of fun.

we spent most of our time sitting around watching basketball games & general conference & eating. we made time for a little bit of swimming, a few games, & some magic tricks.

i was just in heaven loving on the nieces all week.
this girl begged me to paint her toes. & i gladly obliged.
isn't she the cutest thing you've ever seen?

we finished the weekend off with a night in burley. we love staying with & getting to visit my wonderful grandparents. grandma always helps me with the mounds of laundry i bring home & my grandpa is one of my very favorite people to chat with.
and they always load us up on with all sorts of treats as we're leaving. :)

& we also got to have a little sunday popcorn & orange julius with our favorite people while there.

this week we are anxiously anticipating the arrival of a new nephew.
& looking forward to easter sunday spent with the petersons.
both will be new experiences for me. and i really can't wait. :)

happy april.

  4. Happy Easter! You just warmed my heart. Another "One Shining Moment" girl! Out here it doesn't come on until close to midnight but we always stayed up to watch it, until this year. When it looked like Kansas had it sewn up after the first half I had to make a decision, and sleep won. I think that means I'm old. Boo! But reading your post brought the song into my head with a montage of images. It may not have been from this year, but it was enough. And I've learned my lesson. I shall not miss it again!
