first few weeks at home

Our first few weeks at home with Navy were better than I ever expected. Thankfully she has been a great eater/sleeper from day one, which I know is such a blessing! I'm so thankful for my mom and mother in law who both stayed with us for a few nights, and when they weren't staying with us--they would drive down to bring us dinner, or come just to hold Navy for a couple of hours so I could get a few things done. :) I'm not sure what I would have done without them. We also had so many amazing people that brought us dinner the first couple of weeks. It's been almost a month since we brought Navy home and I haven't even had to use the freezer meals that I made--we have the greatest friends & family.

Navy didn't get to meet Grandma and Grandpa Peterson or Grandpa Jones for a couple of days because all three were out of town when she was born. But they all came to visit as soon as they could.

^^Her and I did a lot of napping together that first week. Brian captured it a few times.

^^The first 2 weeks we had to go to the hospital to get her bilirubin levels (jaundice) checked about every other day to make sure it was going down. I felt like I needed to document it because we went about 6 times. She didn't love getting the heel prick/blood drawn. Poor thing.

First Dr appointment at a week old. The doc wanted to see her at a week because of her jaundice.

We gave Nave her first bath after we'd been home for about a week. I was a little terrified to do it without my mom there to help--but looking back I'm not sure why, because Brian is the best help there is. Her umbilical cord fell off on day three--so thankfully we didn't have to work around that. She really loved it (except for the initial shock of the water.) And she really hated being cold after it was over.
^^i really love her face in this picture.
^^all squeaky clean. this was seconds before she pooped in the towel.
^^best dad around.

The rest are just a few random pictures. I take a few pictures of her everyday (who am i kidding--my phone is FILLED) to send to Brian while he is at school. We just can't get enough of this sweet babe.
^^She sleeps like her dad. (this is a pretty good picture of how yellow she was the first couple of weeks)
^^This is when I said "raise your hand if you miss dad." :)
^^One week old!
^^this happens way too often. i'm such a mean mom.

^^this scowl is her favorite face.
^^the good life.
^^definitely my favorite thing ever.
